Anti-fungal Tea Tree Oil

To continue with the theme of my first post I want to talk about a natural oil I use that has great healing power. One of the most effective and powerful natural oils I have used is Tea Tree Oil. It’s a powerhouse oil which has natural antiseptic, antifungal, and many more properties. Because of this it can be put to use in many ways.

Quick Tea Tree Overview

Quick overview, tree oil is derived from the Tea Tree plant found in Australia and it has been used by indigenous peoples for hundreds if not thousands of years as a natural cure for a multitude of issues. In recent years it has come into popular demand do to its amazing properties. I have kept a bottle of pure Tea Tree Oil in my medicine cabinet for years, it’s just so useful!

There are many ways the oil can be used and I have tried most of them so I want to get into some of the multiple ways I use it. First off its anti-fungal properties. If you’re an active person you know that when your wear socks and shoes for long periods of time the warm and moist conditions can cause athletes foot. The fungus thrives in these kind of environments.  Although there are many creams and sprays you can find at your drugstore they are filled with all sorts of chemicals that I’d rather not use on my body. That’s where Tea Tree comes in. You can add a drop or two to water to create a solution that is just as effective in killing the fungus as any of the other medicinal creams and sprays.

Dandruff is caused by bacteria when there is a build-up of dead skin on your scalp, once again creating the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and fungus to grow. You can make your own Tea Tree shampoo by adding a few drops the shampoo you already use to create an efficient dandruff shampoo that smells great too! The Tea Tree and shampoo combo work to clear away the dead skin and neutralize the dandruff causing bacteria. Maple Holistics is a company that combines Tea Tree with shampoo to make an effective shampoo that also leaves your hair soft and healthy.

Although I don’t have horrible acne or oily skin I do on occasion breakout and when that happens a simple Tea Tree and water solution work great to clean away the oil and leave my skin clear do it’s antiseptic properties.

So you see how this simple oil can naturally help you get rid of everyday ailments without having to pay a lot of money and without using harmful chemicals on your body. I recommend you get a bottle for yourself and try it out you’ll be happy you did!

I’d Rather Use Plant Medicine

When you utter the phrase “plant medicine”, there are those who will understand, and then there are those who will look at you with an amused expression (normally after rolling their eyes slightly).

Plant Medicine?

When people hear that term, they may envision a shaman cooking up mushrooms, chanting, and dancing naked around a fire. Sounds fun, I know. Either way, I have been to the practice of several alternative doctors, and have not seen a single fire yet. Unless you count the sticks which light the candles in aromatherapy.alternative

The human body is a delicate and fragile system sometimes. Even the most accomplished medical doctors will agree that modern science doesn’t know everything. That would be way too presumptuous, even for a doctor.

It’s clear that science doesn’t have all the answers quite yet. The more scientists learn, the more questions are raised. Issues are solved, and others replace them. There is this feeling of chasing our medical tails sometimes. I believe the answer lies in bridging the gap between modern western medicine and plant medicine.

The food we eat, the way we conduct ourselves – these have a tremendous effect on how healthy we remain. Genes count, but there is no way it is all up to genetics. I don’t care how predisposed you are to something, you should not let it dictate the way you act, or eat, or move. Things change all the time. The world and its inhabitants are dynamic, and the stagnation or movement which occur on the genetic level affect all of us.

whats it going to be NeoIf you feel dissatisfied with the way you are being treated as a patient, consider reading up more on ancient traditions. Find a professional alternative medicine man (or woman), which can help you overcome your medical issues. I am not saying you should abandon all of western medicine. I am saying that sometimes, ancient traditions are spot on, and they can provide answers on a systemic, biological level.

The body’s and mind’s connections are many, and the ones discovered and used by science are somewhat limited, compared with the wealth of knowledge which exists in old-time medical lore. Each kind of medicine has its time and place. Don’t knock plants and herbs. They are the root of modern medicine.

My blog is here for those of us who would rather go back to traditional natural living.
